Rural Australia natives Stonefield have dropped the first taste of their forthcoming new album, due out early 2018.
Stonefield’s ‘Delusion‘ showcases a shift from the previous psych pop of the four-piece’s earlier work, moving to a more progressive, stoner rock and heavy metal vibe.
Speaking on Delusion, the four-piece (Hannah, Amy, Sarah and Holly) explain how “Delusion was inspired by an overwhelming feeling of knowing you are a speck in the universe, getting lost in your own mind.”
“We ventured away from classic song structure to create more of a journey, exploring synth sounds to support our love of a hypnotic sounding riff.”
While Delusion isn’t as solid as Stonefield‘s previous work, it is a nice change of pace and has me wanting to hear more from the new album.
Stonefield are heading out on the road early 2018 for an extensive tour – check out the dates below.
