Adwaith are an all-woman four-piece group in the form of Gwenllian Anthony (Bass and Mandolin), Hollie Singer (Vocals and Guitar), Eva Chelsea Free (Vocals) and Heledd Owen (Drums) from Carmarthen, Wales, and they have released a new song called ‘Pwysau’ and they have recently release a new song called ‘Pwysau’, which, according to their label, Decidedly Records, they are the future of Welsh music:

“Adwaith’s first single Pwysau is Buddy Holly, it’s the Pixies it’s uncompromising heartbreak in under two minutes, this is the future of Welsh music right in front of us.”

With the help of Google Translate, I was able to find out that the title of the song, ‘Pwysau’, means ‘Weight’.

The history of the band goes back to when Gwenllian and Hollie met when they were three-years-old. I’m not going to pretend I know one word of lyric sang by the girls, but as far as pop-folk-ish music goes, it’s not too bad, and with Pwysau coming in under two minutes, it isn’t a lot to take in.
