With just over a month to go until the release of dream-pop artist Hatchie‘s debut album ‘Keepsake‘, the Brisbane artist has given fans a fresh taste of what’s to come off the 10-track album with ‘Obsessed‘, which essentially works as a virtual journey through Hatchie’s touring schedule while also exploring the story of “friendship.”

Speaking on the creation of ‘Obsessed’, Hatchie explains how she “wrote it [Obsessed] when reflecting on” her own “teenage tendency to cling to a new best friend for support,” until Hatchie “eventually convinced” herself she “wasn’t worthy of their friendship.”

“It’s ultimately a celebration of meeting somebody who you look up to who helps you grow into a more adventurous person.”

Having already given fans a taste of Keepsake with the releases of ‘Without A Blush’ and ‘Stay With Me’, Brisbane’s Hatchie continues to show why she is one of the best new pop artists, not just out of Queensland, but out of Australia as a whole – with the previous release of ‘Try‘ and ‘Sugar & Spice‘ showing off Hatchie’s impeccable creative work through storytelling and great dream-pop vibes.
