‘In The Fog’ – Bec Sandridge

  1. In The Fog, In The Flame
  2. You're A Fucking Joke
  3. High Tide
  4. I Drove All Night
  5. I Keep Running Back

It’s no secret that I am a massive fan of Bec Sandridge, their is just something about her music that I really like. I even went as far as to buy her latest vinyl, even though I don’t own a record player! I just think she is pretty great.

So I was glad to see that today was the official release day for her new EP, ‘In The Fog’. Featuring five tracks she has created, showcasing her skills vocally and instrumentally. I found this EP interesting, because while three out of five of the songs I have hard of before, I was keen to check out the two other songs, ‘I Drove All Night’ and ‘I Keep Running Back’, which I have yet to hear until the release.

I have had the opportunity to play “High Tide” and “You’re A Fucking Joke” previously on the program.

Bec Sandrige noted how she wanted to gets the songs out because she had been “itching to,”:

“I’ve been sitting on this EP ‘In The Fog’ for two years now, so it’s been a while coming… I’ve been itching to get these songs out but at the same time didn’t want to rush a release. It’s a nice mix of sad, angry boogies.”

So how do the other two tracks I have yet to hear stack up? Well, let’s see, “I Drove All Night” and “I Keep Running Back” are two distinctive interesting songs. Mostly because they are slow and steady songs, it’s a nice change of pace from the other fun and vibrant songs throughout the EP – that’s not to say these two songs aren’t fun and vibrant, because they are, they both are. “I Drove All Night” and “I Keep Running Back” just shows how diverse Bec can be with her songwriting and vocal tones of her tacks and how she can change the atmosphere of a song when wanting to.
