Today’s delicious song of the day comes from Canadian artist Digawolf. Coming off the release of Digawolf’s newest album titled “High Arctic“, comes the title track, and subsequent music video – which happens to feature an intense mixed game of street and ice hockey.
Speaking on the release of the music video, Diga of Digawolf reveals that the song was originally released for Hockey Day in Canada when it was in Yellowknife last February. “My daughter was chosen as one of the kids to receive hockey equipment and take part in the celebrations,” Diga explains. “It seemed like a great idea to connect the video and the song with an empowering message for young hockey players, particularly young women and girls in hockey.”
Essentially it was a lot of fun making the video for Diga, which evidently features lots of laughs! “I don’t want people to take it overly seriously, it’s meant to be fun,” he continues. Not only is this a song about teamwork, the lyrics of the song also have a strong message, with words like “stand up strong and stand up tall,” and “stand out what’s for right and wrong.”
