Today’s delicious song of the day comes from Australian band Eliza & The Delusionals. Following on from the release of the band’s five-track EP ‘A STATE OF LIVING IN AN OBJECTIVE REALITY‘ back in March 2020, the Gold Coast-based four-piece have returned with a music video as part of their subsequent release of a new song title ‘Sentimental‘.
Speaking on the release of the single, Eliza reveals that this is one of their favourite songs to date. “Kurt started playing some chords in a tuning he made on the tour bus,” Eliza reveals on the creative process. “We knew we were going in for a writing session, so after coming up with a few ideas around the chords, we brought it into the studio with Sarah and John, and they really helped bring it to life.”
“After having a few months of listening to the demo over and over, myself and Kurt added a bridge and the other parts before taking it into the studio with Ruby and Tex to record it.” — Eliza on the creation of their newest single ‘Sentimental’.
Continuing to showcase their style of heartwarming, indie goodness through the use of their respective instruments and smooth sounding vocals of Eliza, the band have used their new visual single to essentially showcase a song that doesn’t have any particular story attached to it – but does have more of a feeling paired with it. In fact, Eliza & The Delusionals have used the visuals and colours of their new single to create a nostalgic (and somewhat sentimental) feeling and emotion.
