Today’s delicious song of the day comes from Australian pop artist Kate Miller-Heidke. The song is titled ‘Little Roots, Little Shoots‘, and it comes off the release of Kate’s forthcoming 11-track fifth album, ‘Child in Reverse‘, due out for release October 30, via EMI Records Australia.
Speaking on the release of the song, Kate reveals that it is essentially about touching on habits that often start unconsciously, and then gradually begin to take over who you are as a person. “I wanted to write a dark mirror of From Little Things, Big Things Grow,” Kate explains. “The ever-present forces of gradualism are lying in wait, stalking, and they eventually get us all.”
This new song from Kate features a nice mix of recurring vocals from Kate and an assortment of drums, clicks, and piano throughout the entirety of the song – that continues to show why people have come to like Kate after all these years. Not much else to say about Kate Miller-Heidke, she is good at what she does.
