Today’s delicious song of the day comes from Brooklyn-based electronic duo Bottler (Pat Butler and Phil Shore) titled ‘Soft Winds‘. Coming off the release of the duo’s upcoming EP ‘Grow‘, due out for release on October 9th via French electronic label InFiné; ‘Soft Winds’ see Bottler explore the story of enjoying the beauty of nature around us.

Speaking on the creation of the single, the duo explain that the “instrumental began while on a trip to the tropics”. While on that trip, Bottler realised that there “are some places in the world whose beauty is unfathomable until you’re in the middle of it,” and additionally, this song materialised in a day, on just the few instruments that were brought along. “The goal was to capture the feeling of being in awe at the beauty of nature around us,” the duo emphasis.

“Sounds from the wildlife outside our windows are sprinkled throughout the track, from the birds singing to their babies at night, to the waves crashing on rocks beneath us.” — Bottler on the creation of their new single.

“When our friends in Samurai Velvet caught a glimpse of the track, they were moved and eager to collaborate,” the duo cintinue. “Saige [Smith] was dealing with infidelity for the first time and wrote some lyrics to accompany it.”

Essentially, ‘Soft Winds’ is a song bout reclaiming lost power in a relationship and taking control of the narrative. That energy evolved easily and is showcased through this duo’s dynamic, hard-hitting production.
