This is the first time I have come across New Zealand indie-folk six-piece The Phoenix Foundation and I am glad that I have. Mostly because this new song, titled ‘Landline‘ (do people even use those anymore?), is not only an absolute beaut in terms of aesthetics, but because visually it looks like a lot of fun and the sound is easy to consume – which additionally gave me a Donny Bennet.

The aforementioned is why I wanted to share it with you and no other reason. I hope you like it as much as I do because the music video made me happy and more people need happiness in their lives.

This song is also off the release of their forthcoming album Friend Ship – which in itself is the band’s first release in five years – due out via 16th October! Stay tuned for more closer to the release.
