Scandinavian pop artist Hanne Leland has already kicked off her campaign for 2020 with the release of her brand new single “It’s Your Eyes I See”; a powerful synth-pop ballad that sees Hanne pay homage to those people who get lost at [a proverbial] sea.
On the release of the single, Hanne explains that she “wrote the song as an ode to people who get lost at sea”, and wanted to write it from the next of kin’s perspective after watching a news story that touched her deeply. “It’s Your Eyes I See” is about the grief and despair of not knowing where your loved one is, or if you’ll ever see that person again. Hanne couldn’t imagine anything worse. Hanne wrote this song about a year and a half ago, and she tried recording it with a few different producers, however, it just didn’t feel right. So Hanne took it to one of her favourite producers Jim Eliot, whom she has worked with many times before, and the both of them finished the song up during the summer of 2019.
