Pop duo Holychild are getting ready for the release of their sophomore album, due out sometime later in 2019, However, this week so the release of their brand new single ‘Over You‘, which is a break up song.
Speaking on the release of the single, Liz from Holychild explains how while this is a break up song, “now that it’s out” and “past the heartache, it really feels like it was maybe worth it. Was it? It’s so meta to analyze.”
“To see this page in my diary via the lyrics and hear my voice. This song was everything I needed to hear when a relationship ended. That’s what this is.”
Prior to the new release, Holychild having given fans another taste of what’s to come with the release of their previous single ‘Bathroom Bitch‘.
Holychild have been one of my favourite groups since I first heard their single ‘Running Behind’ back in 2015, however, something I have noticed with Holychild is how much their music has developed over the last couple of years.
Liz’s songwriting and storytelling ability continues to grow stronger with every new release and Louie’s production gets tighter in conjunction. ‘Over You’ is a great step forward from Holychild with more to come closer to the release of their upcoming sophomore album.
