The Dollymops are a punk rock band out of Oxford, United Kingdom and recently the four-piece released their brand new single ‘Exurbia’, a song essentially about exploring areas beyond a city populated by anonymous commuters, while also touching on a little bit of hostility.
Going into more of the essence of the single, the band also explore the “sense of a place untouched by modern, progressive life” and how “that is routed in archaic values is something that” they “wanted to convey.
“Finally, the song touches upon the imaginary and fantasy worlds that we create within ourselves to escape the featureless reality of life in ‘Exurbia’.”
The Dollymops are a band people need to listen to more often as they showcase a great range of punk rock beats and strong subtle storytelling throughout their singles.
