Zoey Lily is a 19-year-old pop artist out of the U.K. and after having made a name for herself with the releases of ‘More‘ and Nothing in later 2017 and early 2018 respectively, the London native has returned with a new single about letting go.

Going into detail about the single, Zoey tells me how “It’s about rather letting someone go than staying close enough because you know that you will keep getting hurt.”

“I wrote it as a piano version first and also recorded it as a live piano version before adding the production. I wanted the vocal to feel as raw as possible.”

Today sees the release of ‘Last Goodbye’, a deep, heartfelt track that uses the story driven content to lead the single with the instrumentals, atmosphere and beats essentially playing second fiddle to what is an atmospheric platform for Zoey Lily to showcase her expanding vocal work.

“I want to show people different aspects of my voice and songwriting. This track is the most personal one I’ve written so far,” explains Zoey.

Speaking on the single, Zoey explains how it is “hard if it suddenly doesn’t matter anymore what you think and how you’re feeling [on the story],” Zoey continues, “but people are complicated and things change and sometimes it’s easiest to cut someone off completely even if the last thing you want to do is say “goodbye”.”

2018 looks to be a big year for Zoey has she has more music on the way. As Zoey explained to me, “I’m mainly working on new songs,” and how she is “planning to release a track every month.”

“Next up there will a track featuring be a rapper from New York.”

Touring will also play a big part in Zoey’s 2018 as she explains, “apart from releasing loads of music I’ll be playing first live shows in autumn 2018.” Stay tuned!
