Blue Velvet are a four-piece punk band out of Sydney and today sees the release of their brand new single ‘Stay Inside All Day’, a song essentially about procrastination, with the underlying theme of where Brendan, Samuel, Michael and Lewis are going as a band.
Speaking on the creation of the single, Blue Velvet’s guitarist Samuel explains how the “track is a direct response to where we’re going as a band.”
“It’s an anthem about procrastination. It’s about being stuck in a rut and pretending to be content, only to realise how messed up that is.”
“I’ve never written anything like it before, and it was really refreshing to look at the terrible ways I’ve treated productivity in the past,” Samuel concludes.
To celebrate the release of the single, Blue Velvet will be playing gigs from Friday April 13 in Brisbane till Saturday April 28 in Bendigo, Victoria, with stop offs in Nambour, Queensland; Wollongong, New South Wales; and Melbourne, Victoria.
