Vera Blue explores being comfortable in your own skin in her new collaboration with Kodie Shane on ‘Lady Powers’

Continuing on with powerful, female-centric anthems – as it is International Women’s Day – today sees the release of a new project by Vera Blue, titled ‘Lady Powers‘. Lady Powers is part of an over-arching six-track EP, and to come out of the EP is this first collaboration with Kodie Shane.

Speaking on the creation of Lady Powers, Vera Blue explains how “Lady Powers is about not having to use your sexuality to be respected as a woman” and how you should “be able to feel comfortable in your own skin without having to change for someone” while also “knowing who you are, your worth and your strength.”

“It’s hard sometimes, especially when you feel vulnerable. You can question who you are to try and suit the desires of another resulting in a loss of dignity and self-respect.”

Working in collaboration with Kodie Shane on Lady Powers, Kodie goes into detail about how much the single means to her. “Feminism to me, is nothing more and nothing less than the belief in equality for women,” explains the 19-year-old artist.

“I’m super excited to be a part of Vera Blue’s ‘Lady Powers’ because it hits home with me.”

Just like the Gin Wigmore release earlier today, Vera Blue has put together a strong pop-filled anthem that showcases why she is one of the best artists going around, releasing topical music that hits close to home for many women around the world, and Lady Powers is a great offering.

The entire Lady Powers EP is due out for release on April 13 and it features collaborations and mixes with Tokimonsta, Maya Jane Coles, Alice Ivy and Maria Marcus.
