Returning for the second year in a row is Laneway Festival hotline service 1800 Laneway, a services that is a hotline for patrons to report and escalate any inappropriate or disrespectful behaviour during the festival.

This year sees the organisers of the Laneway Festival team up with the folks over at Good Night Out Campaign. Speaking on the partnership, Good Night Out’s co-director Bryony Beynon explains how there is “no reason anyone should feel unsafe while out enjoying music with friends, and it’s proactive and innovative measures like specialist training for staff and reporting via text that make all the difference.”

“Cultural change is not easy, but as a global organisation working in this space we’ve been really impressed by Laneway’s commitment to best practice. We hope it has a positive impact across the Australian festival scene.”

St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival is on Sunday 4 January at the Sydney College of the Arts and Callan Park, Rozelle, New South Wales – tickes are now available here.

The lineup for the event features legends like Aldous Harding, Amy Shark, BADBADNOTGOOD, B Wise, Dream Wife, Father John Misty, Mac Demarco, Odesza, Sylvan Esso and many others. So go out and have fun and don’t be a jerk.
