Today is a big day for the Nott family, not only did Georgia’s brother and other half of Broods release his debut single as Fizzy Milk, but today Georgia Nott has also released her debut single as The Venus Project.
The song is titled ‘Won’t Hurt‘ and speaking on why Georgia wanted to make new music in this new female-centric venture as The Venus Project, Georgia explains how “it really struck me at some point, that more often than not when I go into the studio, the producer is a guy, and the engineer is a guy, and I guess most of the time I’m the only girl in the room. Often it’s the same on tour or when we’re playing live.”
“The women involved in this project might not be well known, but they’re all so passionate about what they do, 24/7, just constantly driven – they don’t turn it on and off when it suits, they are living and breathing their creativity and standing up for themselves, and those are the kind of people I wanted to shine a light on.”
This is a much more low ki vibes track than what listeners may be used to by Georgia in Broods, however, the main focus of the single is the story, which features an issue that is prominent in every day life. It’s worth the listen alone. The Venus Project is an interesting project and with so much of 2018 left to go, Georgia Nott‘s The Venus Project is one act worth watching.
