Today, New York natives Sunflower Bean have announced the release of their sophomore album ‘Twentytwo In Blue‘, due out for release March 23.
To celebrate the announcement of Twentytwo In Blue, the trio have released a new single titled ‘Crisis Fest‘, which is essentially an ode to people the band met on tour throughout 2016, while also exploring the anxieties of an uncertain future.
Speaking on the single, the band explain how “last year was extremely alarming, traumatic, and politically volatile.”
“We felt a strong kinship with the audiences [on tour] that came to see us all over the country, and we wanted to write a song for them.”
The band conclude with how the new single is “less about politics and more about the power of us, the young people in this country.”
Gritty vocals, basic shoegaze-rock vibes and lyrics for days, Sunflower Bean have put together a solid entry into an already strong stable of tracks.
Sunflower Bean‘s Twentytwo In Blue is now available for pre-order via iTunes.
