The Opener‘ is the new single from Melbourne punk band Camp Cope and it is essentially a song that explores what it’s like to be a woman in the music world.

Since releasing their debut LP late last year, The Opener serves as the first piece of music from the three-piece (Georgia, Kelly-Dawn and Sarah) in 2017 and additionally serves as a platform for the band to showcase why they are one of the best punk bands in Australia right now – but the way they use storytelling over loud, obnoxious sounds and fast-paced action that is a standard in your typical punk song – and tackle the subject of men telling them how to do things.

Camp Cope‘s ‘The Opener‘ is the first taste of what’s to come off their yet-to-be-named second LP, due out in 2018.
