Reuben Stone is a multi-instrumentalist from out of Melbourne and today he has released his new single ‘Brighter Than The Sun’, a song that isn’t actually about the sun, love or life and more to do with the highs and lows of multifaceted existence.
Going into detail about the song, Reuben notes that ‘Brighter Than The Sun’ adds “struggles that come out of nowhere can be fixed with self reflection while looking deeper inside yourself you can mentally step back and take an outside perspective.”
Having spend the best part of 2017 on tour with reggae group UB40, Tash Sultana and The Pierce Brothers on their tour of Australia, Reuben put together a travel diary, which noted at one time how “after the show we ended up playing Mario Kart and I slept on the couch at the boys apartment,” and also detailing his encounter with a spider at Margaret Rivers.
“In the first song of my set at The Settlers Tavern, a large wolf spider lowered itself down from the ceiling onto my face then fell onto my chest and when I flicked him off, he proceeded to chase me around the stage.”
To celebrate the release of Rebuen’s new single, Reuben is heading out on the road from tonight at the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney until Saturday 16 December in Noosa with Tash Sultana.
