It has been just over a month since Melbourne electronic singer/songwriter/producer, Simona Castricum released her new EP ‘Triumph’, which is a follow up to her 2016 album ‘#TriggerWarning40‘.
Speaking on what the EP and title song ‘Triumph’ is all about, Simona noted how it “recognises those moments when you finally move on from profound sadness – and recognise that in itself is an achievement.”
“When we bare our vulnerabilities and fall into the abyss it’s important to know it’s something we can climb out of. Taking that time to celebrate it is an important way to reconnect with strength and love.”
To celebrate the release of the EP, Simona is heading out on a six-show national tour throughout Australia, which kicked off in Sydney on 9 September at the Oxford Arts Factory, which still more shows to go from 21 September to 14 October in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and a second show in Sydney at The Froundry, Casula Powerhouse, Howler, Ancient World and The Bird in their respective cities
Brisbane / 21 September – The Foundry
Sydney / 23 September – Soft Centre, Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre
Melbourne / 5 October- Howler
Adelaide / 7 October – Ancient World
Perth / 14 October – The Bird
‘Triumph’ is an interesting EP, while it is essentially an electronic EP, it still explores a lot of other avenues and features a lot of different sounds, coming from industrial backgrounds to club mixes and darkness with ‘Breakfast of Champions’ being a standout.
Simona’s Triumph EP is now available via LISTEN Records and all major digital services.
