Sydney’s Leftenent explores the destructive attachment to phones and social media in her second single ‘We Can Do Better’

Leftenent is the electronic project of Sydney-based vocalist/producer/engineer Antonia Gauci and today she has released her second single ‘We Can Do Better’. We Can Do Better is essentially a four minute and one second song about the destructive attachment to phones and social media in this day and age.

“‘We Can Do Better’ is the reveal of the personal, unnecessary and occasionally destructive attachment I have with my phone and social media. It’s an observation of my surroundings, something I feel people can relate to.”

We Can Do Better isn’t your typical electronic song, it is really lite on the synths, pop-filters and electronic wave sounding atmosphere and makes up for it in a really minimalistic vocally toned song that features – in what sounds like – an organ and proceeds to move into a duelling vocal offering. It is quite an interesting mix.
