Kedr Livanskiy (real name Yana Kedrina) is an electronic pop artist from Moscow and she recently released a new taste of what’s to come off her forthcoming debut LP with the title track ‘Ariadna’. Ariadna is essentially a synth-wave, synthesised atmospheric track with minimalistic vocal work from Kedr and a whole lot of sounds and virtual sights on offer.
Speaking on why this songs is relied heavily upon synthesisers, Kedr noted how synthesisers actually help her feel.
“Synthesizers help me maximally feel the present moment.”
This song is full of pop, electronic, synth and melancholic vibes from Kedr that don’t slump during its five minute and 30 second offering – while long – entirely makes it worth listening to till the end.
For those that are unaware of their Greek Mythology, Ariadna (spelled Ariadne) is an ancient Greek goddess, and was the daughter of Minos, King of Crete, Son of Zeus and his queen Pasiphaë, daughter of Helios. With a bit of time to go until the release of the album, expect more great synth track to come.
Moscow’s Kedr Livanskiy’s debut LP ‘Ariadna’ is scheduled for release Friday 8th September via 2MR and Remote Control Records in Australia. Have a listen below.
