Moxi is the dream-pop/electronic project of Anna and Andy Toy and today they have released the title track and new taste of what’s to come off their forthcoming EP ‘Figures Bathed in Light’.

Over the course of three minutes and 28 seconds, Moxi showcases a big change in pace to the genre of dream-pop, as this new anthem comes off as a big anthem soundtrack full of atmosphere and landscape vibes, with the use of Anna’s vocal range, Andy’s electronic percussion and the overall presentation of the song throughout.

Speaking on the creation of ‘Figures Bathed in Light’, the duo noted how the initial idea for the track came after the couple escaped a near-fatal car crash.

“our inspiration comes from a myriad of sources and ideas, but the underlying themes come from our emotional response to art and life experience.”

Speaking on the percussion side of the track, Andy noted how “behind all the drifting soundscapes,” he wanted to “build a violence and tension into the music, even if it’s not overtly present at first.”

“We bring all of these elements together in a way that is hopefully relatable and memorable because ultimately, we want people to feel understood through our music.”

Moxi’s EP ‘Figures Bathed in Light’ is due out for release 18 August. Have a taste below.
