Vivenne Chi is a Bristol-based singer-songwriter and today, Vivienne has released her debut single ‘Vivienne’, Vivienne is essentially a song about exploring “that little voice in your head that persuades you to do something stupid.” According to Vivienne, the single also touches on the element of going through a break up.
“I wrote ‘Vivienne’ about getting through the aftermath of a break-up and that little voice in your head that persuades you to do something stupid. It’s about losing control and letting your other, less dignified self take over for a moment.”
As for the percussion, it is done well. I personally like the repetitive structure of the song as Vivienne sings the “Vivienne, Vivienne!” chorus throughout the entirety of this three minute and 47 second offering. Also the added bonus of a live band feel makes this feel big and powerful/
Mixing elements of rock, pop and a little bit of grunge, this is a great first single for Vivienne, which I am looking forward to hearing more in 2017.
