Having only release ‘Bound‘ a couple of weeks ago, JMR is back with the 2nd single to see a release from his forthcoming sophomore EP Boyish, out this Friday, May 26 – in the form of his new single ‘June Carter’.
The essential story of the song is about “influential women who’s story may have been overshadowed by their significant other,” with the fascination of exploring their lives.
“The song is a story that tributes johnny cash’s sort of dark magic to the girl who enabled it. The first school report I did as a child was on johnny cash’s autobiography. I’ve always been fascinated by his life.”
Soulful, poppy, down to earth, however you choose to sum up JMR’s music is left up to interpretation. What we do know, though, is that JMR continues to show why he is one of the best new artist around, and with his ‘Boyish’ EP out tomorrow, 2017 looks to be a big year for the artist.
The Boyish EP is fully self-produced and will be released independently.
