Australian singer-songwriter ARCHER is making his way across Australia to celebrate and spread the release of his new single, ‘My Little Sweet Aussie Sweetheart‘ – a rediscovery of Mike O’Malley’s little known original ballad from the 1950’s – to the good punters of our land throughout the months of March to May, which will see him perform on a 28 show tour.
The tour kicked off on Friday, 17 March at the Old Church on the Hill in Bendigo, Victoria. However, the tour continues next on Friday, 24 March at Smith’s Alternative in Canberra and concludes on Saturday, 27 May at The Gasometer in Melbourne, Victoria.
This extensive album tour will also see Archer perform in Kyneton, Bowral, Wollongong, Maitland, Newcastle, Bathurst, Gold Coast, Noosa, Brisbane, Nambour, Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Gloucester, Old Bar, Karuah, Dubbo, Broken Hill, Adelaide, Coonawarra and Warrnambool at Major Tom’s. Tooses. Jane’s, The Grand Junction, The Stag & Hunter, Django Bar, Webb & Co, The Cambus Wallace, Cafe Le Monde, The Milk Factory, Bison Bar, Paper Moon Cafe, No. 5 Church Street, Element Bar, Tapp Bar, Hastings Hotel, Fox Den Cafe, Old Bank Bar, the Los Highway Festival, The Grace Emily, Penola Arts Festival and Sound Records in their respective cities.
“The live shows could well be full of cryin’ and dyin’ and the like, maybe laughin’ and some waltzin’…I will have a couple of different damn fine accordion and fiddle players with me sometimes, some slide guitar, a bit of old style harmonica, and we’ll be all lonesome and alone – but full up on a restless wind.”
The tour will also offer a taste of the majority of other offerings from Archer, that showcases a diverse range and sound that is easy to listen to and has a more story-driven element than percussion being the dominate force of a track.
Tickets to Archer’s shows and festivals can be purchased from individual venues.
