Back in January Paths released her debut single, Neoprene, to critical acclaim from the likes of myself, Clash Magazine and Nialler9, while also getting her music out on the airwaves from BBC Radio 1, RTÉ, BBC Radio Ulster Across The Line, and 2GLF in Australia.
However, Paths is back with the second track – with a third already on the way – in her strong stable of tracks that sees her get “three tracks out in a short timeframe to give listeners a full taste,” of her sound.
“‘Neoprene’, ‘Right Beside You’ and ‘Last One Standing’, were written and produced in close succession and although different in sound, are all a lyrical reflection of relationship challenges.”
‘Right Beside You’ has narrative of being with someone for so long they start to not pay attention to you and give you the time of day. With the narrative of “digital distraction” and how technology can take you away from what’s right in front of you, i.e. loved ones and the people you can actually interactive with in person – not via a screen.
