Salt Petal drop a mixing pot of surf rock and 60’s psych within their latest single

Telephone is the first single off Los Angeles, California based surf-rock five-piece, Salt Petal’s Rare Hearts, which is scheduled for release on April 28, 2017 via all digital platforms.

Salt Petal’s Rare Hearts was recorded at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, Washington with the help of their producing partner Eric Lilavois (Previously working with Saint Motel and Atlas Genius) and mixed and mastered by Raymond Richards (Previously working with the likes of Local Natives and Avid Dancer). Salt Petal hope the record can showcase a “constant reminder for humanity to have faith and love in ourselves, in order to continue to get through difficult moments. The central theme is “exploring the fight everyday against yourself to be able to see what you have around you” (sic) reveals Salt Petal’s co-founder Autumn Harrison.

Salt Petal are Los Angeles, California natives that have been invigorating audiences with their live tropical surf-dance sound act. A mixed combination of Argentinian folk, Brazilian tropicalia, cumbia and up tempo surf rock blurs ethnic and musical boundaries, bringing to mind Blondie, Os Mutantes, Gal Costa, and 60′s rock and roll.

Salt Petal’s latest single, ‘Telephone’, gives off a mix of various elements, including surf-rock and 60’s psych, that is enjoyable to listen to and makes you want to have fun, all within this three minute and 18 second track with Autumn’s vocals sounding dominant throughout the entirety of the track with the easy use of their percussion causing a calming vibe throughout the remainder of the song.
