Melbourne based electronic artist, Bel, is a musician I am well aware of, as I have written about her, shared her new song, “Own Home,” and played her music twice (August 31 and November 9) on the program. Melancholia is a fantastic song and I am glad to hear the news of her debut EP, of the same name, getting release on February 10!
Bel’s debut EP will feature six songs – including “Own Home” and the title track “Melancholia” – showcasing Bel’s artistic skills, percussion work, and vocals throughout the EP.
Bel noted how much effort she put into the Melancholia EP over the period of a year, showcasing her skills behind the microphone just as much in front:
“Melancholia is a body of work that I have been working on for almost a year. I wrote all the songs alone in my little home studio as I normally do. It will show you exactly who I am and what I stand for in a metaphorical fashion. This scares me a lot, but also excites me. I couldn’t be more ready. All will be revealed before the end of the Australian summer.”
Bel is celebrating the release of her forthcoming EP with a special one-off show at the Toff in Melbourne on 18 February, with special guests yet to be named. Tickets go on sale next week.
