The somewhat successful Brisbabes event – which just finished its fifth event – is signing off… for now, with an event on 21 January, 2017 at The Foundry in Fortituder Valley to celebrate what as an event that showcased what Brisbane females artists have to offer with their fantastic musical work, with the night designed to showcase and highlight the strength in female fronted acts in Brisbane and beyond, and is set to go out with one last hurrah for the foreseeable future.

To end the night in style, Brisbane natives, Tiana Khasi, Jesswar, Izadora and Pink Matter will each have allocated time to show why they are some of the best musicians in the Australian music scene and pay homage to Brisbabes.

Founder and promoter Emma Jones noted how she enjoyed the gigs because of the opportunity it gave to female artists in the music scene:

“I founded this gig because I was sick of people saying there were just no female acts around when they were booking lineups. Each lineup has been stacked with incredible talent in a variety of genres, so I think I’ve debunked that myth. I’m sad to be wrapping it up for now, but who knows what will happen in the future!”

Over the past 18 months, Brisbane’s go to indie night, “Brisbanes”, is coming to an end with their sixth and final – for now – quarterly event at The Foundry in Fortitude Valley, Queensland.

You don’t have to be a female to attend the event, so head on out to 228 Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley, on Saturday, 21 January, 2017 – take $10 out of your wallet – and enjoy some great music.

Tickets can be purchased via Oztix.
