Now that 2017 is upon us, the Australian music scene continues to move forward with artists doing their own thing throughout the first quarter of 2017. One of the first artists to do something is Poppongene (Solo project of Melbourne based musician and artist Sophie Treloar, who also plays in Melbourne outfit Sunbeam Sound Machine). She will be taking residency up at The Gasometer Hotel upstairs in Melbourne throughout the month of January with various Melbourne based artists and friends.
Which will see her play four gigs throughout January, every Wednesday night, with the likes of Way Dynamic, Great Outdoors, 808s and Greatest Hits, Doona Waves, Real Feelings, Baby Blue, The Baudelaires and Ali E on 4 January, 11 January, 18 January and 25 January.
You can expect to hear songs features in POPPONGENE’s debut 7″ double A-side vinyl featuring ‘Do It Girl’ & ‘Belgravey’, which is available for pre-order via Bandcamp right now.
