Allie & Ivy is a Sydney-based pop artist that is actually one person – secret identity: Aleisha Conlay. Now before I actually get to the track she was kind enough to e-mail me and ask to write about, I wanted to take this time to talk about her previous work, specifically the track called ‘Cowboys and Indians’.
I did some of my own research – aka going through her Soundcloud profile and listening to her other tracks – and grabbed a song I knew I had previously heard of hers called ‘Cowboys and Indians’. I thought I had previously played this track on one of my programs in the past, but that wasn’t the case, so I thought I would share it with you here, because it is definitely worth the listen:
Okay, now onto the actual track Allie & Ivy was nice enough to let me know about. Allie & Ivy’s new track is called ‘Best Friends’ and it is all about Allie & Ivy’s happy place that contains lots of summer find, pool-side, and with a drink or two by her side… and her best friends too:
“This song is my ‘happy place’. It’s about those summer days spent drinking in the sun at pool parties with your best friends – the days when it feels like you don’t have a care in the world. I wrote Best Friends when I was living in an epic sharehouse that had a pool and a jacuzzi, and that’s literally what we did all summer. It was one of the happiest times of my life.”
